2009 Accomplishments
Congratulations to the Tri-Valley Marching Band!!!
The band competed in their 28 th OMEA State Marching Band Finals on this past Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Dublin Coffman Stadium. The marching Scotties received two ratings of “Excellent” and eight ratings of “ Superior” for an overall “ Superior” rating at State Finals.
The band has had a very successful season leading up to this years state finals.
The band has achieved the following this marching season:
- First place in Class A at 4 contests
- First place in Auxiliary in class A at 4 contests
- First place in Percussion class A at 2 contests
- Overall Best Music
- Overall Best General Effect at 2 contests
- Overall Auxiliary at 2 contests
- Reserve Grand Champion at 2 contests
- Grand Champion of Class A and AA.
- The band also received a rating of Superior qualifying them for their 28 th OMEA State Marching Band Finals.
- Qualified for state finals 4 times
- Received straight Superiors at 2 contests

2008 Accomplishments
The Tri-Valley Marching Band has another Superior Season!!!
The Tri-Valley Marching Scotties had a fantastic season this year. This past Saturday the band competed in OMEA State Marching Band Finals. Only 111 bands qualified for state finals this year from the entire state of Ohio. Only 27 Class A bands qualified for state finals this year. Out of the 20 bands that competed on Saturday only “Seven” received a superior rating. The Scotties gave a great performance and received an overall rating of “ Superior.” The following is their list of achievements for the 2008 marching season.
- First place in Class A at Cambridge, Zanesville and Licking Valley contests
- Second place in Class A at the Meadowbrook contest
- First place in Auxiliary at Licking Valley, Cambridge, and Zanesville
- Second place in Auxiliary at Meadowbrook competition
- Overall Auxiliary at the Cambridge contest
- Best Field Commander in Class A at Zanesville
- Best Overall Field Commander in Class A at Zanesville
- First Place in Percussion at Zanesville
- Second place Overall at the Cambridge contest
- Second place Overall at the Zanesville Contest
- Third overall in the Meadowbrook Contest
- Qualified for State OMEA Marching Band Finals Competition four times.
- Scored straight Superiors from a panel of 9 judges
- Qualifying for State Marching Band Finals for the 27 th year.
- “ Superior” at State Marching Band Finals
The band is very proud that they qualified for OMEA State Marching Finals at every competition this year. Ms. Blevins, the Boosters, and the band students would like to say “THANK YOU!!” to everyone that supported our Marching Scotties this year. Your continued support helps this program be the best that it can be.
2007 Accomplishments
The Tri-Valley Marching Band has another Excellent Season!!!! The Tri-Valley Marching Scotties have had another wonderful season. On this past Saturday the band competed in OMEA State Marching Band Finals. They gave a great performance and received an overall rating of “Excellent.” The following is their list of achievements for the 2007 marching season.Awards the band received this year:
- Second place at three contests in Class A
- First place at one contest in Class A
- First place in Auxiliary in Class A
- Overall Best awards in Music, Field Commander (2 times), Visual Effect, and General Effect
- Esprit de Corp
- Reserve Grand Champion
- Overall Grand Champion
- The honor of marching in the OSU horseshoe
- 2 overall Excellent ratings
- 4 overall Superior ratings
- Qualifying for State Marching Band finals for the 26 th year

2006 Acomplishments
The 2006 season has been a special one for the Tri-Valley Marching Scotties. On Saturday, November 4 th, the Marching Scotties traveled to Dublin-Coffman High School for the Ohio Music Education Association’s State Marching Finals. Only 117 bands made to finals this year from the entire state of Ohio.Out of 21 bands that competed on Saturday only “Three” received superior ratings. The Tri-Valley Band received straight “ones” from the judges for an Overall rating of “ Superior.”
To recap the bands 2006 season:- Qualified for state finals four times.
- Scored straight “Superiors” three times from a panel of 7 judges
- Placed first in class A at two contests
- Placed second in class A at one contest
- Placed best guard in class A
- Scored best overall Marching and Maneuvering
- Scored best overall General Effect
- Overall Reserve Grand Champion
- Overall Grand Champion
- “ Superior” at State Finals
The band is very proud that they qualified for OMEA State Finals at every competition this year.
This is also the 25 th year that the Tri-Valley Marching Band has qualified and attended State Finals Competition.
Ms. Blevins, the Boosters, and the band students would like to say “Thank You!” to everyone that supported our Marching Scotties this year.
